Beautifully written story about a sister whose brother was a veteran lost to suicide. If you’re tempted to read Thirteen Reasons Why, don’t—read this instead. Tenderly written and very well said.

Such an emotional short story! Angela did a great job showing Taylor's hurting heart, and the hardness of losing someone through suicide. And that cover!! <3 I recommend this book to 13+ because of the mentions of suicide

In honor of Veteran's Day, I added this short story to Amazon. In remembrance to vets lost to suicide. ♥ Since Amazon is fickle, it will take a bit for it to be permafree, but you can get it for 99c till then! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KDZ2XWW Merged review: Amazon/Goodreads must've glitched, so I'm sorry for any inconvenience -- here's the final book and the link to buy is at the page! ♥ In honor of our veterans lost to suicide.

5 Stars Wow. This story was amazing. As a suicide loss survivor myself, I was hesitant to read this. Too often people portray suicide victims as being selfish, or showing survivors as not loving the one they lost. A lot of times, people don't even realize they're doing it. But not this book. This book presented the cold, hard truth of the guilt that comes with this type of loss. Without judgement, and with empathy. I was frankly blown away by the amount of reality in this story. For someone who, as far as I know, hasn't experienced this personally, the writing in this book is amazingly honest, realistic and raw. Angela, thank you for this. It gave me hope. And it is important.

This book is short, but so profound. I have never thought of this issue much, and I definitely never thought of the implications of suicide as described in this book. Angela Watts definitely has a gift for writing, and drawing you into her story, so you get to know the characters. At the end of this short book, I was definitely empathizing with these characters. This is a book that everyone should read, and it doesn't take more than 15 minutes to finish. It is a sad tale, and yet full of hope. H This book is short, but so profound. Homeward is a short story that paints a vivid picture of a family in mourning. It is beautiful whilst being respectful and interesting. As with most short stories I read, I wish it was longer so I could spend more time with Watts' intriguing characters. I look forward to reading more from this author.
