Written in a very casual "stickin' it to the man" tone, that sometimes becomes a bit repetitive, but drills home the point that you shouldn't let your guard down. 5 stars for the approach it presents on how to shop for a mortgage. Some of the other chapters are merely 3 stars, but could be beefed up some. The book could become outdated, but still seems relevant thus far. It seems best to read this with at least one other guide or book.

This was extremely eye-opening! I never realized all of the options and tricks that are used and considered fair since we the buyers were unaware and "agreed". I hate feeling cheated or unprepared so I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it before my beloved fiction novel. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to know what to look for in mortgages and how to keep from paying too much/getting taken advantage of.

I kind of stopped reading it since the other chapters don't apply to me yet. I find this information very useful and will be making plenty of notes when the time comes when I am looking for a lender. I am a real estate investor and this is something I believe most investors don't know about. Definitely will be re-reading it. I got it as an ebook from amazon/kindle.

I really liked this book... it was very informative as to how the mortgage world works and will come in handy next year when we hope to buy our first home. She has another book out since the mortgage crisis... I probably would have bought that one instead had I known about it at the time...
