All I can say... This book ended WAY too quickly. But, even to that, it was such an amazing read - seriously a page turning and I am not ashamed to have finished this so quickly, if only for the sake of saying I got to read it and know what happened. I'm so freakin Happy> I read this... ESPECIALLY seeing that this was the 2nd book by Stephie Davis I've read and absolutely LOVED!!! Both her books in the First Kisses series are honestly my fav. Legit <3

How can she balance everything in her life and show off her coolness? The BOYFRIEND TRICK offers an outlook on passion, being different while fitting in, and the crazy world of boys.

Since I read adult books in junior high, I figured I should read a junior high book now that I am an adult. It was cute.

I just downloaded this today and since I still have some free time decided to skim the first few chapters but well, I have finished this on one sitting. At one point of my life I could clearly relate to Lily when her passion for music diminishes as too much pressure was put on her shoulders, not that I went into recital or that levels, I did performed on recitals playing violin not the piano but, well you probably got the idea. At one point of my life I could clearly relate to Lily when her passion for music diminishes as too much pressure was put on her shoulders, not that I went into recital or that levels, I did performed on recitals playing violin not the piano but, well you probably got the idea. When too much pressure is put into you, you just wanted to be free from that hold and do the thing that makes you feel alive and not the boring musician or whatever it is they expected you to be. In this book, Lily, a brilliant piano prodigy started losing her passion for music and piano and was struggling to keep it to avoid disappointing her parents and her tutor when she met Rafe, her tutor's nephew who was a amazing drummer of a band that plays on the same place where her tutorials are. His name is Rafe, he was hot, he was out of her reach but hey, a girl could dream right? I really liked the story because it was told on an easy manner, yes there are conflicts; yes it is mostly predictable but I think the key is just to make it fun to read on. If it's predictable already then you don't have to put too much heavy drama that could border on depressing since it would mostly just sucks to read. Just on my opinion. So, this was a story about to young people trying to find a place where they can belong, where they can use their God-given talents but still be able to enjoy it. In life, I think it is most important to find that . The romance was kinda sweet, nothing to heavy. Again, I think the author wanted something light yet appealing for the readers to try on since mostly nowadays, it's either a heavy drama in full blast with the dysfunctional family going on the backgrounds while two young adults seek haven with each other's company. In this book, it was not the case. It was about finding yourself, Rafe falling for Lily was just a bonus too (or in my opinion again) since Rafe was also the reason why Lily find playing pleasurable and fun again. He was her key to finding that place where she can be herself and yet totally enjoy the things she will do. What did I realize on this book? At times, there comes a time in our lives that we hardly find the things we once truly love pleasurable, at times we just want to scream and say "I give up!" but tell you what, I realized today and remember the one thing that my coach in Taekwondo told me and the words got permanently in my mind, "Work hard, Rest if you must, but don't you ever quit." Life will never be easy, at times sure seems to be, but the key to happiness is finding the thing that gives you the satisfaction to do, the joy that would come to you while doing it. I know it's not easy, but when you do, hold on to it and never let go. I'm not saying this for those who will read this to like my review, I'm writing this to remind myself that once, I told myself those exact words and whenever I feel down, I would maybe get to read this and remember to take a breath, rest, and resume on doing the things I love but sometimes very hard to keep on doing. :)

I liked this book. I've already read 'Love at first click' and 'The Dating Game' but when I realized they were part of a series I had to read the rest of them as soon as possible and this was the first one that I found online. It's been a little while since I've read 'Love at First Click', which is written by the same author, so I must have forgotten how IT-girl Shephie Davis' books can be. Lily seems to be a bit of a try-hard to me honestly. I don't remember ever being so willing to give up wh I liked this book. Lily seems to be a bit of a try-hard to me honestly. I don't remember ever being so willing to give up who I was to fit in with a group of friends I'm probably not going to even speak to after High School when I was a Freshman, but then again everyone says that to some extent. And I am not Lily. Still her willingness to lie to her 'friends'-who are evil Victoria Secret bra wearing, bikini sporting, Lacrosse player loving, bleached hair tossing witches with a capitol 'B' (except for Erin who is a sweetie pie and needs to find some nicer friends)- is ridiculous. Why not just take their pity and turn it into something better? Or when she felt the need to lie she should have come up with better ones! Lies that she could more easily maintain! I mean 'dating' TWO guys that are really just friends, if that? Hasn't she read a book recently or seen 'Big Fat Liar'? 'What goes around comes around', 'What goes up must come down', and so on and so forth? There's a reason those quotes are so popular. I continuously yelled at my computer screen while reading the story telling Lily that she needed to grow some balls and find new friends because, obviously, this isn't going to be the only time when they purposely exclude her. The jury's still out on Erin, but I know for sure Delilah and Valarie are evil incarnate and will not hesitate to back stab her the next chance they get no matter how sincere they seemed when they told Lily that Rafe liked her. So, other than Lily's horrible morals, her evil, un-supportive friends, and the overall IT-girl flow I really enjoyed this book. Whenever Rafe was mentioned I grinned and I loved the ending, just too cute ^^ and I don't do cute very much.

Actually, I’m no longer interested to read these types of books that the background of the story is about how to chase over BOYS. I think these books are suitable for, yeah of coz for young adults, teenagers or school children. For me, I just want to make fun of reading these since its using a very simple English and the story plot is very light and totally to give you something that suit you with the teenage life, have clique and-so-called boy/girl things. Okey, I admit I knew it will be short and cheesy! I couldn't help myself. I wanted to read something easy and romantic like the first crush and all. This book is light and interesting, sweet and....really for younger girls, but I read it anyway. It wasn't as good as the other book from this author called The Boyfriend Game, but good nonetheless.

I didn't like this book as well as Davis' PUTTING BOYS ON THE LEDGE or SMART BOYS AND FAST GIRLS, but I think that may be because this is probably geared more for the tween crowd. I just kept thinking there could be so much more... more character development, more conflict, more romance. But, if I hadn't had preconceived notions in my head, I probably would have liked it just fine.

I can't believe it myself, but I actually liked this story. The ending was obvious (given the name of the series) but the middle actually had a decent story line. But what I think I liked the most was the fact there was no swearing and a kiss was enough to satisfy the romance part of the story. Finally a romance novel that I can safely recommend to middle school kids!!!

This, as well as Silver Kiss, was like reading a one-shot manga. Short love story what ends more or less with a happy end. The ending was typical and sweet. I enjoyed reading it ^_^ I'm a sucker for music and love stories. I had moments when I wanted to slap Lily :)) but I guess I can't ask for anything, she was just human in her world. Maybe many other girls would have done the same thing.

More of a younger age range book, but cute. The characters were midly annoying. Especially Les, he only likes girls with boyfriends? wtf. And the whole middle school dance scene, how awkward. I don't see how you could bounce back from that so quickly and have the ending you want.
